FAQ

Answers for frequently asked questions about prints, original art, shipping, etc.

If your question isn't answered here, please feel free to email me to ask!

What is a giclée print? How is it different from other kinds of prints?

A giclée print is an archival quality inkjet print, meaning that the print will not fade and the paper will not yellow over time.  Giclée printing is the standard of quality for limited edition prints in order to ensure a long-lived product.  There are many other types of prints and printing processes, but many are not suitable for artwork that is intended to last for an extended period of time.  To ensure the beauty and longevity of your print, all of my prints are made using the giclée method.

Yes, I take commissions on a limited basis of one per month!  If you are interested in commissioning a piece of custom artwork from me, please visit my Commissions page for further details.

Do you take commissions?  How do I order a commissioned work?

I have created a pricing calculator for myself in an Excel spreadsheet, which allows me to enter the type (Print, Original, or Commission), dimensions (in inches), complexity (ranked 1-5 from least to most complex), and presence of a mat and/or frame for a given artwork. That provides me with a consistent pricing structure and eliminates the stress of trying to price every piece. My calculator is designed to account for time and materials required to create an artwork, as well as my market value as an artist.

How do you price your artwork?

What countries do you ship to? How long will it take to ship my artwork?

I can ship to most countries; however, please be aware that international shipping may take several weeks or more due to customs. Please note that you are also responsible for any local or import taxes within your country. The lead time on shipment depends on what you have ordered.  If you order an unframed print, you can expect it to be shipped within 5 business days.  If you order a matted or framed print, or an original artwork, you can expect it to be shipped within 6-10 business days. This is because I individually mat and frame each work, which takes a little bit of extra time.  You will always receive a notification email when your order has been shipped.

Damaged Artwork: In the event that work is damaged in transit to your shipping address, please send an email with a photo of the damage within 7 business days of receipt.  For damaged prints, I will send you a new print free of charge to replace the damaged print.  Should the mat or frame of a work be damaged, I will send a replacement mat or frame free of charge.  Should original art be damaged, I will work with you directly to resolve the issue, as solutions will vary depending on the degree and type of damage.

Commissioned Artwork Returns: Commissioned artworks are not returnable, due to the custom nature of the work.  If the commissioned work is damaged in shipping, please send an email with a photo of the damage within 7 business days of receipt.  I will work with you directly to resolve the issue, as solutions will vary depending on the degree an type of damage.

All Other Returns: If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with your purchase of an original artwork or print, you may return it for a full refund within 30 days of verified purchase, so long as the item is in its original condition when I receive the returned work (for Damaged Artwork Policy, see above).  Returns will not be accepted after 30 days from the purchase date.  Damaged items will not be accepted for return unless the item qualifies under the Damaged Artwork Policy.  Except in the case of qualified damaged work, return shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser.
